One shows how the newly commissioned interventions interact with the Collection of Solidarity the other coincides with a historical reconstruction of events that happened from the 1963 earthquake to “Skopje 2014” – a controversial urbanistic project initiated in 2010 that was financed by the then-ruling nationalist party. The Skopje Solidarity Collection, Kunsthalle Wien 2023, photo: This is particularly evident in the manner through which the artistic team have organized the exhibition space, according to two trajectories. As in the lines of the poem from which WHW have borrowed the exhibition’s title, poet Rainer Maria Rilke encourages readers to examine the facts of life for what they are – in their beauty and obscurity, seemingly, No Feeling is Final provides visitors with the tools to analyze the present critically, without losing an eye toward the future. While the tragic nature of these kinds of events is a presence in the room, it is not the dominant viewpoint from which the events of 1963 have been told – but rather the contrary. Even if No Feeling is Final had been conceived two years ago, when neither the recent earthquake in Turkey nor the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine were urgent realities as they are today, a parallel between today and the events of the 1960s’ rises spontaneously in anyone’s eyes. The Contemporary Art Museum (MoCA) Skopje was created through this initial gesture of generosity. It was not a bourgeois taste that generated this collection but rather the genuine donations of more than a hundred artists who sent artworks of different media and styles to the North Macedonian capital. Informed by these ambitions, No Feeling is Final has reanimated the historical memory that happened within the broader historical context of the Cold War, such as the amassing of a collection of more than 100 works that followed the destruction of the urban area of Skopje, due to an earthquake in 1963. Since then, the curatorial trio has proposed a unique program encompassing monographic exhibitions and group shows leading to international collaborations, that demonstrate their commitment to fueling productive exchange, often between the Western Balkans – where they come from – and Central Europe – where they have relocated themselves, through locally informed and context-aware sensibilities, and by using the exhibition as a tool for political debate – to paraphrase their voices. In the spring of 2024, No Feeling is Final will travel to the National Gallery of Prague and then return to its original caretaker, MoCA, Skopje, at the end of next year.Įlfie Semotan, Untitled (Still Life), Skopje, 2022, courtesy Studio Semotan © Elfie Semotan.Īfter twenty years of working from Zagreb, Croatia, with many high-profile international projects, Ivet Ćurlin, Nataša Ilić, and Sabina Sabolovićhave took leadership of Kunsthalle Wien, following the resignation of former director Nicolaus Schafhausen in 2019. Finally, they asked photographer, Elfie Semotan, and the Serbian, Vienna-based fiction writer, Barbi Marković, to create a visual and written commentary on the preparatory path that led to the collection’s arrival in the Austrian capital. In close collaboration with Contemporary Art Museum (MoCA) Skopje, the WHW invited six artists to engage with the artworks of this one-of-a-kind collection: Belgrade-based artist Siniša Ilić, the Macedonian duo Yane Calovski and Hristina Ivanoska, Turkish filmmaker and visual artist Gülsün Karamustafa, Australian artist Brook Andrew, and Egyptian artist Iman Issa. The Skopje Solidarity Collection, an exhibition that opened at Kunsthalle Wien, on the 20th of April and will last until the 28th of January, 2024, the artistic team, formed by the curatorial collective WHW (What, How & for Whom), challenges visitors’ on what “solidarity” might mean in today’s socio-political climate by anchoring their proposal on a concrete case study: the Collection of Solidarity of the Contemporary Art Museum (MoCA) Skopje. What makes a collection exhibition worth attending is the curatorial ability to show, against any forms of assumption, how a specific collection can reorient us in the way we look at the issues of the present, and to demonstrate that the conditions in which the collection has been assembled still hold a specific historical weight that has not been investigated enough yet. Hopefully Apple will officially add AirPlay support for third party apps eventually, which would eliminate the need for this kind of hack. Oh yeah, you’ll clearly need to jailbreak your device in order to get this working at all. AirPlay lets you share videos, photos, music, and more from Apple devices to your Apple TV, favorite speakers, and popular smart TVs. But right now it’s the only game in town if you want to send third party video from your iDevice to an Apple TV. Right now TUAW’s Erica Sadun refers to the hack as “pre-alpha,” and “a bit unstable.” You may have to reboot from time to time. You can AirPlay a video directly from the QuickTime movie player in Mac OS X with the latest versions. The folks at TUAW decided not to take this sitting down, and they’ve put together a hack that lets you send video from third party apps to an Apple TV. You can stream audio from some apps to an Apple TV. It’s still possible that this is a bug that Apple addresses. Third party apps like Netflix, VLC, and others aren’t supported - or rather, video from those apps is not supported. Testing with an iOS 15.7 device, AirPlay still works with the Apple TV 2 and Apple TV 3, even with DRM-restricted content. What Is AirPlay AirPlay is Apple’s name for the company’s proprietary wireless media streaming protocol. Unfortunately, out of the box this feature only works with the default video app. Fix a cropped AirPlay display: If your AirPlay display appears cropped on Apple TV, turn on AirPlay Display Underscan to show the entire. Though it is easy for me to go in settings of the Apple TV and find how to connect the Apple TV to my External Speakers via Bluetooth. Turn Conference Room Display on or off: See Stream to a conference room display. How to Stream Sound From Apple TV to an Airplay Speaker Hi Guys, I have the Apple TV 4K and I also have an Airplay Enabled Speaker. One of the most talked about features in iOS 4.2 (and Apple TV OS 4.1) is support for AirPlay, which lets you stream video from an iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad to an Apple TV over your home network. Allow access to Apple TV: Select Allow Access, then see Set who can use AirPlay to stream content to Apple TV below. Smith also had a voice acting role in Neo Yokio and a role in Nashville as himself. 2 to focus on music, returning to act in Netflix original, The Get Down in 2017. Smith took a break from acting following the release of his mixtape, Cool Tape Vol. Smith plays Henry Shackleford, a young slave living in Kansas Territory in 1857 who encounters abolitionist John Brown. In April 2014, Smith was cast in the film The Good Lord Bird, which is based on the 2013 novel of the same name by James McBride. The movie will be directed by Breck Eisner, produced by James Lassiter and Will Smith and written by Zak Penn. In 2014, it was announced that Smith will return for the sequel Karate Kid 2 with Jackie Chan. In May 2013, Will Smith and Jaden starred together, playing father and son, in After Earth. In 2010, along with Jackie Chan, Smith starred in The Karate Kid, a remake of the 1984 film. Smith next appeared as Jacob in the 2008 Scott Derrickson science fiction film, The Day the Earth Stood Still, a remake of the 1951 classic of the same name. For his role, Smith won the award for Breakthrough Performance at the 2007 MTV Movie Awards. Smith made his major role debut in the 2006 film The Pursuit of Happyness as Christopher, the son of Chris Gardner, Will Smith's character. Smith and his siblings were youth ambassadors for Project Zambi, which provides assistance in conjunction with Hasbro for Zambian children orphaned by AIDS. Growing up, Smith's celebrity status due to acting in films such as The Pursuit of Happyness and his parents both being acclaimed actors led to him being isolated from having a normal childhood, something he has spoken on at length. Smith attended New Village Leadership Academy before being homeschooled by his parents. He has an older half-brother, Trey Smith (born 1992) and a younger sister, Willow Smith (born 2000). Jaden Christopher Syre Smith was born July 8, 1998, in Malibu, California, the son of actors Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith. In 2022, he received a Grammy Award for Album of the Year nomination as a featured artist on Bieber's album Justice. Smith has since released the studio albums Erys (2019) and CTV3: Cool Tape Vol. Following a three-year work effort, he released his debut studio album, Syre (2017). He later released multiple mixtapes including CTV2 (2014). The song reached the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified 5× Platinum in the US. Smith began his musical career alongside Canadian singer Justin Bieber, when he was featured on the 2010 single " Never Say Never" from The Karate Kid. Following a three-year hiatus Smith returned to acting in 2016, starring in the two-part Netflix original The Get Down and a voice-acting role in the Netflix original anime Neo Yokio. He also starred in the remake films The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008) and The Karate Kid (2010). His film debut was with his father Will Smith in the 2006 film The Pursuit of Happyness, and he again appeared with his father in the 2013 film After Earth. He has received various accolades, including a Teen Choice Award, an MTV Movie Award, a BET Award and a Young Artist Award, among nominations for a Grammy Award, two NAACP Image Awards and an Empire Award. Jaden Christopher Syre Smith (born July 8, 1998), is an American rapper, singer, and actor. And that was the historic high, so nobody in their right mind would have even forecast or predicted that oil could have quadrupled in price. “Oil was trading for about $25 a barrel back then. “In 2002 Don Bently had the foresight to say that oil was going to get to $100 a barrel,” said Carlo Luri, Director of business development for Bently Enterprises. For a small island, that’s pretty big.”ĭuring the past two decades, Pacific Biodiesel has helped to design and build twelve other biodiesel facilities, including plants for Bently Biofuels and SeQuential Pacific Biodiesel on the mainland U.S.īently Biofuels, located in Minden, NV, was founded in 2002 by Don Bently, out of concern for rising petroleum fuel prices. “It was something like 22 million gallons. “Last year, we went through the process of figuring out how much FOG (fats, oils and grease) we’d kept out of the landfill,” said Kelly King. They built the first biodiesel plant on site at the Central Maui Landfill in 1995 and have been successfully diverting cooking oil from the landfill ever since. At the time, little was known about the possibilities for biodiesel, so the Kings worked with researchers from the University of Idaho to develop methods for converting used cooking oil into fuel. For founders Kelly and Robert King, the impetus for entering the industry was a desire to put a waste product to work by recycling used cooking oil into a fuel source and keeping it out of the Central Maui Landfill. Pacific Biodiesel, located in Kahului, Hawaii, is the oldest biodiesel company in the United States. The founders of Pacific Biodiesel, Bently Biofuels and SeQuential Pacific Biodiesel each entered the biodiesel industry for different reasons, but eventually came to the same conclusions: creating fuel from used cooking oil helps the environment, reduces our dependence on fossil fuels and makes good business sense. How three biodiesel companies got into the biofuels industry This article will touch briefly on each company, the challenges that they face, their secrets to success, why it’s important that the biodiesel industry survive, and what we can do to help the biofuel industry succeed. In addition, each one of them is standing strong in uncertain times, surviving conditions that have forced many other biodiesel companies out of business. Of the 297 biofuels companies currently operating in the U.S., we chose three - Pacific Biodiesel, Bently Biofuels and SeQuential Pacific Biodiesel - because they share a feedstock of used cooking oil and a passion for protecting the environment. While biodiesel companies across the United States await government decisions on updates to the Renewable Fuel Standard and Blender’s Tax Credit, the Western Sustainability and Pollution Prevention Network checked in with three West Coast biodiesel companies for an insider’s look at the state of the industry. The Shape Tape concealers aren’t included, but if you pick them up during the sale, you can use code: THELILLIEBAG15. I decided to do a little comparison of the three products for you!īetter yet? If you would like to try a few new products, too, Tarte is having their Spring Steals sale with great deals starting at just $5. So, with this new concealer launch, I knew I needed to try it. I was so excited to try it out! Shape Tape is not my go-to as I prefer the look of their Creaseless Concealer on my dry skin. Tarte recently released a new product in their Shape Tape Collection – the Shape Tape Ultra Creamy Concealer. I hear all the time that one of your favorite makeup products is Tarte Shape Tape. And, if your tried and true makeup products are working for you and lasting all day – why try something new? That’s why I wanted to try these Tarte Concealers for you – including cult favorite Shape Tape! I use Golden Beige in this, which is a little more of a stark highlighting colour on me, making it very brightening.Trying new beauty products or a new shade of lip gloss can be a lot of fun! On the other hand, it can be very overwhelming and frustrating – especially if your busy day never seems to end. The Too Faced concealer only comes in 20 shades but I actually think there's a more even distribution within those colours there are no big jumps between the colours. I use the colour Medium, which is actually perfect for me in terms of having a tone that's very slightly highlighting (as an NC37-40). only a small handful of dark/deep shades. The Shape Tape concealer comes in 30 shades but, like its infamous foundation counterpart, I don't think they got the gradient right with this one! There's a lot of minor variations on the lighter end with a range of in-between shades and different undertones vs. I think the Tarte can be used to spot-concealer but the Too Faced probably isn't as suitable for that because of its more watery texture. As I mentioned, I don't really contour but I think you could probably use both of these for that purpose, though the Too Faced is going to look more natural because it sheers out. I apply both of these concealers with my makeup sponge. I do also notice a little bit of fading towards the end of a long day when I use this one. HOURGLASS Vanish Airbrush Concealer, 6ml This crease-resistant, light-reflecting liquid concealer blends seamlessly into skin and diffuses the look of pores. Even with all that, I do often get creasing with this concealer. Shape Tape Ultra Creamy Concealer - Tartes iconic Shape Tape Concealer, now with a built-in EYE CREAM for 24-hr hydration Benefits Full coverage, natural. Shade: Light (fair w/ pink undertones) 0.3381 fl oz/10 ml New in box With: Shea Butter, Sunflower, Peony, Licorice Root and Vitamin E Cruelty-free. What I don't love about this concealer is that on my skin, I have to set it very quickly with a heavy-duty or quite a matte powder to minimise creasing. It's definitely slightly more sheer than the Tarte option and is very hydrating, so if you have dry eyes this is the option for you. The Too Faced, on the other hand, is definitely more fluid, which is why I think a lot of people like it for contouring, because that makes it really easy to blend out (I don't really contour so I just use both of these concealers under my eyes). It definitely isn't drying on my under-eyes, however it isn't specifically hydrating. I personally find the Tarte formula to be so long-wearing and it's incredibly crease-proof it's a product I reach for when I need something that's going to look flawless all day long. I've seen a lot of people say that these two concealers are really similar formula-wise but I actually have to disagree! The Shape Tape is a little more opaque (though I'd still say the Too Faced is full-coverage, the consistency is much more watery) and has a very slightly thicker texture. The Too Faced one has a bit more of a dip in it so scoops up more product than the Tarte. Both concealers have a large doe-foot applicator, which makes it easy to cover the amount of surface area you need to get a good layer on under the eyes.
